MEDVISORS SCOPE OF SERVICES TO MEMBERS
A. MedVisors Provides Professional Medical Advisory Services To Its Members
A Member is an individual who has entered into an agreement with MedVisors for the provision of professional medical advisory services. A Member may, by appropriate legal documentation, authorize another individual, or individuals, to receive professional medical advisory services on behalf of and for the benefit of the Member. MedVisors products and services are provided to its Members based upon a medical professional’s determination of what is in the Member’s best interests, to the exclusion of any third party’s commercial, legal or personal interests.
B. MedVisors’s Professional Medical Advisory Services Include (And Are Expressly Limited To):
1. Reviewing the Member’s medical records that are provided to MedVisors by the Member, or by an individual or entity authorized by the Member to provide MedVisors the Member’s personal health information.
- Entities or individuals who could forward to MedVisors the Member’s personal health information include, but are not limited to, the Member, the Member’s doctors, the Member’s health care providers, hospitals, pharmacies, laboratories, and public health agencies.
- In order for MedVisors to properly advise the Member, it is critical that MedVisors have a current and complete health record for the Member. If need be, MedVisors will ask for contact information for the Member’s healthcare provider(s) and for the Member’s authorization for healthcare provider(s) to release information to MedVisors which is necessary to update and complete the Member’s health record.
2. Creating and maintaining a current electronic copy of the Member’s health record that is:
- Owned by the Member for the sole purpose of supporting the Member’s personal healthcare needs;
- Accessible to the Member at all times via the internet;

Protected by the highest levels of access security;
- Stored on a secure server with redundant back-up; and
-
Managed to the highest standards by MedVisors medical professionals.
3. Providing professional advice, guidance and recommendations concerning the Member’s health conditions and healthcare which is:
- Based upon, and limited to, the Member’s personal health information MedVisors has received. The Member’s personal health information must be in a condition and contain sufficient detail so that MedVisors professionals can reasonably draw conclusions and make recommendations consistent with all professional standards, and federal, state and local laws and regulations.
- For the Member to use in consultation with the Member’s regular doctor(s) and other healthcare providers. Professional services provided to the Member by MedVisors are intended to support and enhance healthcare provided by doctor(s) and other healthcare providers who have physically examined, diagnosed and treated the Member or who have provided consultation and/or ancillary healthcare services to the Member as directed by doctor(s) and other healthcare providers who have physically examined, diagnosed and treated the Member.

Focused upon:
- Gaps in medical information (test results, consultations, etc.) that are relevant to the Member’s current health status and care;

Health warnings and alerts from expert and authoritative agencies that may be applicable to the Member’s condition and/or healthcare;

A current, reconciled account of the Member’s prescription medications and over-the-counter medications, vitamins, supplements, and other products the Member uses;

Potentially problematic medication doses, regimens, contraindications, interactions, duplications, and manufacturer recalls;

Prevention-focused healthcare services to which the Member may be entitled and/or recommended such as disease screenings, immunizations, nutritional supplements, and personal lifestyle activities;

Specific health issues and questions that, based on determinations by MedVisors, the Member should discuss with the Member’s doctor(s) and other healthcare providers; and
-
Other matters that are deemed advisable to promote the Member’s health and the Member’s ability to receive the best healthcare services; for example, advice and assistance with medical advance directive, medical power of attorney, informed consent for surgery, and personal health information management.
4. In providing membership services to the Member, MedVisors does not:
- In an emergency situation, review or advise upon health conditions for which the Member is currently seeking or receiving emergency care;
- Diagnose: make diagnoses of the Member’s conditions, signs, or symptoms;

Treat:
- Prescribe medications, authorize renewal of prescriptions, or alter (change or cancel) prescriptions written for the Member;
- Order tests, procedures, or other healthcare services for the Member’s conditions, signs or symptoms.
5. Products and services provided to the Member by MedVisors may be of benefit to the Member if the Member is filing claims, making appeals, or otherwise providing the Member’s health information to insurance companies, government agencies, employers, or potential employers. MedVisors will not negotiate on the Member’s behalf with the aforementioned entities or any other entity with which the Member may be conducting business.
