Kelly H. Woodward, DO, MPH
Dr. Kelly Woodward is President of MedVisors and a board-certified Family Practice and Preventive Medicine physician. He has over 25 years of experience in medical practice, graduate medical education, and clinical leadership.
Prior to starting MedVisors, Dr. Woodward was a Senior Consultant to federal and private health programs. From 2007 to 2010, he was Deputy Health Director for the Alexandria Health Department, where he managed clinic services and oversaw public health programs.
Dr. Woodward served his country for over 22 years in the United States Air Force and retired at the rank of Colonel. In his varied assignments he cared for military families in Turkey, taught Family Practice residents as Assistant Clinical Professor, and led numerous Department of Defense programs in healthcare benefits, clinical quality improvement, and public health policy. He finished his Air Force career as Deputy to the CEO at the Mike O’Callaghan Federal Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dr. Woodward earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Utah and his medical degree from Des Moines University. He holds a Master of Public Health degree from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Woodward completed his Family Practice residency at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, and his Preventive Medicine residency at Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Woodward continues his medical practice in a Northern Virginia clinic serving low-income patients.
Robert K. Wolverton, MD
Dr. Robert Wolverton, MedVisors Chief Medical Officer, is responsible for the quality of clinical services provided to MedVisors members. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Adolescent Medicine and has 25 years of experience providing comprehensive medical care to adults and children.
Dr. Wolverton has worked for over 20 years for the Alexandria Health Department, Alexandria, Virginia, where he practices general internal medicine, women’s health and adolescent medicine. He has been instrumental in the development of programs to increase access to healthcare for adolescents and adults. In addition to special qualifications in adolescent medicine, Dr. Wolverton has expertise in HIV care, chronic hepatitis, diabetes, and other chronic disease management. Prior to joining the Alexandria Health Department, he worked in private practice in Olney, Maryland.
After receiving his Bachelor degree in Biology, with honors, from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Wolverton completed his medical training at Washington University School of Medicine, graduating in 1986. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency training at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC, and his Adolescent Medicine Fellowship training at University Medical Center, Jackson, Mississippi.
Alan Whitehead, RPh
Mr. Alan Whitehead is the Chief Pharmacist at MedVisors. He has extensive experience leading pharmacy services in a variety of settings including community, military, government, and clinical pharmacist consultant roles. He has received numerous awards for excellence in leadership
Most recently, Mr. Whitehead served as the Pharmacy Director at the Alexandria Health Department where he managed an outpatient pharmacy focused on primary care, OB/GYN, and treatment of communicable diseases. As a member of the Executive Staff, he was instrumental in implementing and managing Virginia Department of Health programs and initiatives in the local community.
Previously, Mr. Whitehead was Pharmacy Director at the Family Health Center of Fairfax, a branch of the Dewitt Army Hospital at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, serving military personnel and their families.
Mr. Whitehead earned his degree in Pharmacy from the University of Georgia and is a Certified Geriatric Pharmacy Specialist. He has additional education and training in emergency management focusing on bioterrorism, emergency planning and response. He has also served as a volunteer at a community free clinic, provided Medication Therapy Management services to seniors, and contracted as an operations management consultant to government, military, and private clinics.
Tracy L. Woodward, RN
Ms. Tracy Woodward is Chief of Care Coordination for MedVisors. She has over 25 years nursing experience, encompassing acute care nursing, staff education and case management.
Ms. Woodward has worked for Inova Health System, in Northern Virginia, for over 10 years and is currently a Case Manager for the award-winning Inova Joint Replacement Center of Excellence where she helps implement pioneering innovations in hip and knee replacement surgery and rehabilitation. She has provided acute care nursing services on a specialty surgical unit at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital, Alexandria, Virginia. In addition, she was an instructor for Inova information management systems. Prior to joining the Inova team, Ms. Woodward was an acute care nurse for Barnes-Jewish Hospitals in St. Louis, MO, where she worked in coronary care and sub-intensive care medical services. She also worked in psychiatric nursing at the St. Louis Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Ms. Woodward received her Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing degree from St. Louis University, St Louis, MO, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
